Why and how to use cloves to boost your libido?

Is clove an aphrodisiac?

The clove is said to be the strongest natural aphrodisiac there is. The famous spice is credited with the ability to increase the blood flow to the sexual organs and to give tone.

Let’s take a look at why clove is considered an aphrodisiac and how to use it to help boost libido.

On Spice Island, you can find quality gloves, flowers of the clove, picked before its development, used as a condiment and natural remedy.

The clove is the bud of the clove tree, a tree very common in Indonesia, but also found in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Madagascar. Just before they hatch, the cloves are picked, then laid out to dry out in the sun, until they reach their well-known appearance.

It is a well-known spice in kitchens around the world, stuck in onion for example, but it is also an ingredient used in many pharmacopeias around the world for its many health benefits, such as its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and analgesic, which causes cloves to relieve tooth pain, or to use cloves for beautiful skin.

Among its many benefits, it would be a very powerful natural aphrodisiac.

Remember, however, that libido is the result of a complex combination of physiological and psychological processes, and that it is therefore not enough to take a product (apart from chemicals such as Viagra or Cialis), to overflow with desire.

Why would cloves be an aphrodisiac

In Asia, it is recommended for people who have lost their desire for sex, especially due to nervous or eating disorders, as well as men with erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation.

These effects would come from its action on the blood system. Indeed, it helps to improve blood circulation, in particular peripheral circulation, and therefore the flow to the genitals.

In addition, used in small quantities, it would act on the production of testosterone, while too much consumption would reverse the effect.

There is, to my knowledge, only one scientific study carried out on the subject, carried out on rats, a study which would have demonstrated aphrodisiac properties, as well as an increase in penile reflexes, a decrease in the time of latency between each erection, and a decrease in the post-ejaculatory interval.

How to use cloves as an aphrodisiac

Prepare an infusion

Infusing cloves is one of the best ways to use them. A pure clove infusion may be difficult to drink, by cons, you can add cloves in any beverage hot: teas, herbal teas, coffee, rooibos, etc.

In dosage, add 2 or 3 nails for a cup, it is more than enough. It may be beneficial to grind the nails before infusing them. If you are making an infusion of only cloves, let them infuse for 30 minutes, and preferably thake it half an hour before your sexual intercourse.

Do not exceed one cup of herbal tea per day.

It is possible to combine cloves with other ingredients with aphrodisiac properties: ginger, fenugreek, wood bandage, maca, etc.

Other ways

You can incorporate cloves into your daily cooking, for ideas, check out our clove-based recipes.

It is also possible to use the cloves in essential oil, by taking a drop of sugar, ideally 1 hour before a report.

Some recommend a massage with a cream or vegetable oil by adding a drop of essential oil or clove.

It is also possible to integrate EO in the dishes, but not more than one drop and after cooking, because an essential oil should not be cooked.

Contraindications and side effects

From an effect on sexuality point of view, do not exceed the indicated dosages, as the impact of cloves on testosterone levels may be reversed. Too large a dose may have a toxic impact and decrease the production of this hormone.

The exact maximum dose is 60 mg / per kilogram.

Be careful, never use clove essential oil directly on the skin without diluting it, because it is a dermo-caustic oil. For external application, test its effect on a small piece of skin, before moving on to a more substantial message.

It is also not recommended to use clove essential oil in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
