How to make oregano essential oil at home.

The process of making this type of oil requires a special distillation, however, there is a simpler way to do it, and that is the basic recipe that we bring you.

•Chopped or crushed oregano leaves.

Olive oil, almonds, or grape seeds.


•Clean jar with lid.

It begins by boiling water in a saucepan, once it reaches a boiling point we proceed to turn off the heat, now the oil that is chosen is placed in the jar along with the oregano leaves, this jar is placed in the hot water so that the heat of it helps the oregano to release its essential oils, this is done for about 10 minutes.

Once this time has elapsed, the bottle of the oil and oregano mixture is placed next to a window where the sun enters and it is left to rest for about two weeks, the idea is that every two days this bottle is shaken, to release the elements.

When the two weeks have passed, the oil is strained, this is done to remove the oregano leaves, now it is time to change the container, for this a dark-colored jar is required. Store in a dry, dark place, such as a kitchen cabinet. To preserve it for a longer time, add a few drops of grapefruit seed oil.
